All right Aminah. I am waiting things out in my room because fo the rain delay for graduation. Thanks for getting the blog going. I was fortunate to spend a semester in Europe my sophomore year in college. I was given a space at the University of Zagreb (Croatia) for the Fall semester. I wanted to feel the twilight of socialism (the variety that Tito created-independent from the Soviet variety. I also had the opportunity to feel the religious and ethnic tensions that were emerging which eventually led to the bloody dissolution of Yugoslavia in the 1990's. I had a Serb roommate and my Croatian friends reminded me in desgraceful ways nearly every day. I also caught the tensions bewteen Orthodox Christians and Bosnian Muslims. They all looked like Yugoslavians to me...but in reality I was only looking at a constructed idendity. Finally I got to travel to Italy for a week---wow and Hungary for a long weekend. Both places were amazing. Have a great weekend and continued success on your remaining exams. MZ
I have never been to Europe yet... but I am going to France for six weeks this summer! I will be living in the south of France, so I will also be visiting Spain.
